Chris Gothard (BA (hons), PGCE, DipCouns, CertMediation. CertCoaching).

Welcome to Working4Wellbeing.  When you work with me, you are assured of a dedicated, tailor-made service to meet your own well-being needs and those of your workplace.

With a background in teaching, pastoral work and counselling, I worked for many years as Emotional Health & Well-being Adviser with Children's Services at Wokingham Borough Council - supporting and promoting the well-being of all staff in schools and early years settings.  I have worked with other Local Authority departments and Town Councils and my work has been featured in the 'Times Education Supplement' and in' School Leadership Today'. I work with the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education, their staff and schools.  I also meet with clusters of schools to advise on aspects of staff well-being and work-related stress.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and many years' experience working as a counsellor: I worked with adults and young people in schools, a GPs' surgery and in private practice.

A frequently-requested services is to teach adults in schools how to use active listening/ counselling skills at work, and to work with groups of staff on resilience to work-related stress.

I am a trained and qualified mediator and coach. I  have trained staff in mediation and conflict resolution skills and worked in schools training children and young people as peer mediators.

I'm based in Earley, near Reading with my own quiet, tranquil consulting room, in easy reach of the M4, A329M and Reading town centre road and bus routes.  Parking is available.
It's so good to know that I can get support when I need it - for me and for my staff.
A big 'thank you'! Headteacher
